Motorcycle Show Madness
Ever since I started doing this blog, my eye’s been a lot more alert for almost anything interesting in Second Life that could be a part of what I’ve started here. I was doing my usual hopping from store to store to see what was new and what might end up falling into my pocket, when I was made privy to a couple of motorcycle shows that were already underway. Yet another, third show will be starting in just a couple of days!
~On your marks…~
The first show I took a stop at is being held by F.A.B. Chopper Parts at the site of Lexy Ollers new parts shop and drag racing strip. This show is already underway with a good number of entrants already registered and votes already getting tallied amongst them. Judging to take place on Memorial Day, May 31st, 2010. Here’s what I managed to see when I got there.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the Popular voting will take home L$4000, L$3000, and L$2000 respectively.
Current entrants into this show (at the time of this posting and in no particular order) are: Gasoline Alley, Blackheart Bikes, Stacy’s Custom Choppers, WSD, <3 JFC, Hanz Eun, Twisted Creations, County Choppers, Rodger Renfort, Moto-Inks, Tiger Bay Choppers, Nekos Garage, Xtasy Sleds, Drillosmaster Coba, Chains Ghost, Old School Custom Choppers, Micci’s Parts, Alexa Ranier, Jolly Carnell, Lowland Chopper Designs, and Chaos Custom. Still plenty of spaces available for those wanting to get into the action for L$200 per entry (L$25 per vote). In fact, more bikes were actually being put down by some of the current builders as this was being typed up!
The next stop I made was at R&R’s Second Annual Chopper Challenge. Having started just today, I spied entries from Gasoline Alley, Xtasy Sleds, and Hafs Rods. Plenty of spaces remain available for people wanting to enter and get a chance at some fame and fortune. Judging takes place on June 5th, 2010 with the following prizes to be handed out (on the following day):
1st place Judged – L$4000
2nd place Judged – L$2500
Popular Vote – L$2500
Entry fee for the competition is L$400 (no more than three bikes per builder) with each vote for the popular vote costing L$25.
This next show, Radicals for Life and Hope Bike Show and Contest, starts on May 22nd, 2010 and ending June 5th, 2010. At the time of this writing, bikes were already getting placed by builders wishing to get a jump on things.
Bikes will be judged in two categories, Owner and Builder. Pretty lucky day for me in terms of finding some neat bikes to check out and even more places that will soon be added to the builder list. Top winners in each category will be getting the obligatory trophy with a special dragster going out to the top winner in the Builder class.
Entry fee for this show is L$250 per bike with a limit of two bikes per entrant. Proceeds from the show will go towards the American Cancer Society.
~And the winner is…~
Obviously it’s still a little early to tell on who’s winning what, but I’ll definitely be keeping a tab on these and will post an update as things progress. Good luck to all the people entering these shows and I can’t wait to see all the neat bikes. My wallet might not like it so much…
Check out the shows, the bikes, the builders, and let ‘em know that Duranu sent ya! See ya on the road!
