Motorcycle Clothing and Gear

Chillin' on my S-I-C Thunder

Leather Biker Jacket by +grasp+. Grey tanktop by Tonktastic. Leather pants by FriXion. Biker boots by Skifija. Glasses by PrimOptic. Necklace by NEOX. Eight-Ball Revolvers (guns) by Breach. Bike (Thunder) by Spirit Island Choppers.

Now that you have a motorcycle to make cruising the roads of Second Life easier (and a lot more fun), you’ll probably at least want to look the part. Let’s face it, whether people in SL want to admit to it or not, everyone wants to look good, especially when you’re sitting on a hot piece of machinery. Regardless if you’re sitting on a chopper, or speeding down the city streets on a crotch rocket, there’s a lot of stores out there that will help you look like you belong on that bike and look good as Hell riding on it.

Here I’ll be listing and providing landmarks to various stores, split into groups for clothing and accessories. Now, while there are literally thousands of clothing stores strewn about in Second Life, and plenty may offer a nice pair of biker leathers or boots, I’ll be concentrating primarily on those stores that cater specifically to or dedicate a significant portion of their inventory to bikers. I’ll also provide a snippet of information in regards to what you’ll find there, approximate cost range if I can, any items of note, and if they even have some freebies available. Although not necessarily noted, most stores carry fashions for both men and women, and sometimes unisex fashions as well. While I’ll try to do my best, obviously I’m sure my list will be far from complete. If you know of a store that has some pretty hot stuff, but isn’t listed here, definitely let me know so I can add it to the list!

Down towards the bottom of this page, I’ll even place a few tips on how to customize looks for yourself so that you don’t necessarily look like every other biker riding out in the world.

Hope your wallet’s ready for this…

Clothing:

19 Motorcycle - This one was kind of hard to place considering they hold both biker themed clothing as well as accessories, including furniture and tools. Jackets, overalls, and even helmets (with incl. hair) help you dress the part while furniture made up of tires, boxes, and cans make your surroundings fit as well. Lots of freebies can be had as well if you look carefully. Items of note –  If you came to this page without first looking at the Motorcycle Store page, they’ve got a scooter and a motorcycle for sale here as well!

Blackheart Designs - Located in the same shop as Blackheart Bikes, you’ll find a selection of biker themed outfits and boots for the ladies. Prices run between L$50-L$375. Items of note – It IS a bike store as well…

Outfit (incl. jacket, gloves, and boots) by The Drawmachine. Helmet by Dirty Lynx. Glasses by PrimOptic (my favorites if no one's guessed by now). Tail by Urban Dare. Ears by Anisa Naumova (thanks Stacia!). Bike by T&S Motors.

The Drawmachine - Catering to the crotch rocket and racer crowd, plenty of racing style jackets, pants, and racer girl clothing can be found here. Even protective kneepads to keep from getting scraped on the tight turns. Prices start at L$69 for separates to L$1080 for full outfits. I especially like the complete male outfit, and many of their other separates mix and match well with it.

FriXion – This is an odd one because I have a little trouble finding any particular “home” for the store, so if anyone’s got a link to the main store, let me know. At the moment, you can find a store at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Whispering%20Palms/34/102/1014. Now they only have three pieces of leg wear, but I happen to think all three are very nicely made and deserve to be in this shopping list. Cost for the pieces run either L$99 or L$149. Items of note – All three of their jeans.

+grasp+ - Nicely detailed jackets, shirts, jeans and more can be found here along with accessories such as boots, jewelry, and even hats complete with hair. Prices will vary widely but may average around L$180-L$400. Giftcards can also be purchased for gifting, and a group gift is available if you join their group. Items of note – The leather biker jackets happen to be one of my favorites from there.

Inedit - Found on plenty of different sims due to an extensive affiliate network. Inedit caters to the biker, vampire, goth crowd. Here you’ll find numerous complete outfits containing leather jackets, jeans, leather chaps and more to compliment the chopper you’re sitting on. Full ensembles will run anywhere from L$300-L$600 with individual pieces also for sale. Items of note – Some really nicely detailed biker gloves for L$169.

May Creations - While offering plenty of biker styled clothing and accessories, the big attraction to this store is the huge selection of biker style boots. Prices on their products range from L$99-L$899. A Lucky Dip is located towards the front of the store for a chance at a free item. Other free items can be located just outside the store, nearby the entrance on a little wooden cart. Items of note – Boots, boots, and more boots!

Oh Lala Leather & Lace - Featuring designs for the rough rider in you, both full sets as well as separates are available here. They also include among their wares many clothing related accessories such as hats, belts, jewelry, a very nice collection of boots, and even tattoos. Cost will vary widely depending on item from as low as L$75 on up. As an added bonus, a road to ride on encircles their full-sized sim. Items of note – Dress up your bar or home with neon signs for sale, L$55 on up!

Okey Design - Offering complete outfits including matching boots and accessories for all riders, whether you’re on a chopper or a superbike racer. A few of the outfits are recreations of famous people such as John Galliano or Valentino Rossi. Complete outfits will run between L$200-L$490. Items of note – A Dolce & Gabbana style puff jacket for only L$60.

Panheads - Another one for the chopper riding crowd, you’ll find plenty of biker fashions including leather jackets, vests, pants, and accessories. Some available as full sets or separates, some available as unisex. Prices can vary widely. Gift cards are also available for purchase as gifts. Sister store to V-Twins, another biker clothing store listed below. Items of note – Found some L$100 choppers for sale in a small vendor within the store!

Roughnecks - Nicely detailed separates, and well done leathers. Prices can vary depending on the piece, ranging from L$150 on up. Items of note – Skull Thong. You just really have to see it…

SpeedNeeds - A good place to go to feed the speedfreak/racer in you. Various styles of racer geared clothing can be had here for both men and women. Accessories are plentiful too in order to help complete your look. Prices range from L$10 for t-shirts, up to L$350 for complete outfits. If you look carefully, a couple freebies can be found and had as well. Items of note – L$10 t-shirts??? Can’t go wrong with that now can ya?

V-Twins - Biker clothes and fashions for men and women. Like their sister store Panheands (above), caters primarily to the chopper riding crowd. Larger in size than Panheads with most of their clothing coming in complete sets. They also carry a much wider variety of accessories, such as boots, shades, and jewelry. Prices vary once more, but average around L$170-L$500 depending on the complexity of the set. Free gifts located just outside of the store. Items of note – Shop in style while riding around on one of their free Segways!

WMD - Weird Monkey Design Industries has an extensive collection of jeans and other leg wear for both men and women for which they’re well-known for. T-shirts, jackets, shoes, tattoos, and even piercings  can also be found here. While most articles of clothing come separate, a number are available as complete outfits. Prices of course vary depending on the item, starting at about L$100 on up. Items of note – What they’re most known for…  jeans!

XTC Leather - Leather, Leather, and as the name implies, more leather! A large store split into sides for both men and women, you’ll find nearly every style of clothing here, done in leather. From leather suits and tuxedos to racing gear, you’ll find even a few non-leather wearable goods like ladies tube dresses and pajamas. Prices start at L$150 all the way up to L$500 for full sets. Items of note – That Leather Tuxedo I mentioned earlier.  Pretty snazzy!

Accessories:

Kumaki Glasses Style - While a set of clothes definitely capture whatever look you’re trying to portray, the little accessories and other details not only strengthen that image, but help make it unique. Here you’ll find a large selection of glasses, shades, and goggles in numerous styles and colors. If that’s not enough, you’ll also find a collection of nicely detailed instruments, basses, and even drums if the rocker thing is something you’re going for. Lucky Boards are lined up at the entrance for a chance at something free. Prices vary greatly depending on the item, with guitars and basses topping around L$1400, give or take. Items of note – Newly released, a SG style electric guitar, notable to me anyway because it looks like a replica of the real thing I own in RL.

Route 66 Tools - So much detail goes into motorcycles, that people seem to forget sometimes that there’s a whole lot to motorcycles other than just the motorcycles themselves. Here you’ll find various items to make your shop and garage look as well equipped as you’d expect one to be. Things like air compressors, tool boxes, tanks, and signs done with a great amount of detail. Prices start at L$25 and run upwards of L$175 per item. Items of note – Frontinac is partial to the torches and welder, but recommends the free Red Bull cans because he’s friggin cheap (I sorta quoted that…  lol).

Skifija Collection - A sizeable collection of boots, as well as some jackets, belts, and jewelry can be found here. Even a few swords! While not everything they offer is biker related, a good portion of it is, with a number of different biker boots, jackets and other accessories available. Some demos for ladies shoes are even available to try. Prices start at L$25 on up depending on the item. Items of note – A L$49 Boot Fixer HUD. A nifty little hud that prevents your ankles from bending in certain poses, defeating that “broken ankle” look that happens with some boots.

Spirit Island Wild West Store - Quite often, western style clothing and accessories tend to mix with the rough rider motorcycle crowd. If this is the type of look you’re going for, Spirit Island Wild West has a nice assortment of accessories to put the finishing touches on that look of yours. With some clothing to be had for both men and women, there’s also plenty of boots, buckles, cowboy hats, and even items to give your home a wild west look. Items of note – One of my other vices and things I admittedly like to collect. Guns!
